Concept & Strategy

Before anything gets posted, there is a plan

We develop social media and content strategies: which channels suit you, which topics you claim and in which formats you do it, without overloading your team.

What this is about

Most social media presences do not fail on reach, but because nobody decided what to talk about. Without a topic plan, whatever is to hand gets posted, and it shows on the channels.

Channels by audience

LinkedIn, Instagram and TikTok call for different content. We decide up front which channels are worth it and which ones you can save yourself.

Topics instead of one-off posts

A handful of recurring topic areas will carry a year. Individual ideas carry a week, and after that the search starts again.

Realistic day to day

A concept that demands three videos a week fails on reality. We plan around what you can keep up in the long run.

Reach is easy. Having something to say is the work.

Situations that typically bring clients to us

What we actually do

Channel selection

We check where your audience actually is and name the channels that make no sense for you.

Topic areas

A few solid topics that posts can be derived from over months, instead of a list of one-off ideas.

Editorial plan

A plan with rhythm, responsibilities and lead time that still works when day-to-day business gets tight.

Formats and tone of voice

Recurring formats and a defined way of speaking, so posts are recognisably yours.

Campaign idea for ads

The idea behind paid creative, so ads do not feel arbitrary but belong to the brand.

Handover to your team

We hand over the concept so your people can work with it, and train them on it if needed.

How we work

  • 01

    Review what exists

What is running today, what of it works and what only costs time? A look at the competition is part of it.

  • 02

    Clarify audience and channels

Who do you want to reach and where does that group actually spend its time?

  • 03

    Set the topics

Topic areas, formats and rhythm are decided and put in writing.

  • 04

    Hand over

The concept goes into delivery, either in-house with you or together with us.

At the end you know what you are talking about and how often. Tell us which channels you run today.

Frequently asked questions

Reach is easy. Substance comes from being clear about what is talked about – and how, on which channel.

What does a social media strategy from dxm include?

The selection of the channels that are worth it for you, a few solid topic areas that posts can be derived from over months, recurring formats, a defined tone of voice and an editorial plan with rhythm, responsibilities and lead time. Without a topic plan, whatever is to hand gets posted, and it shows on the channels. On request the idea behind paid ads is part of it too.

Does the concept replace ongoing support?

No, it is the foundation for it. After that there are two routes: your team delivers it itself – then we hand over the concept so it can be worked with, and train them on it if needed. Or we take on the editorial work and the production, in full or in part. What matters is that the planned frequency fits your capacity: a concept that demands three videos a week fails on reality.

Do you treat LinkedIn, Instagram and TikTok separately?

Yes. The message stays the same, the mechanics differ considerably: what works as a specialist post on LinkedIn looks out of place on TikTok. So we define the job, the format and the frequency per channel – and explicitly name the channels you can save yourself. Two well-maintained channels achieve more than five half-hearted ones.

How is success measured?

Against the goal the channel is meant to serve: awareness within a particular audience, qualified enquiries, job applications or supporting sales during an ongoing contact. Different metrics fit each of those, such as reach within the right audience, recurring interactions, website visits or applications per month. Likes on their own are not a goal, because they are the easiest to generate and say the least.

Posts go out, but nothing happens?

Tell us which channels you run today. We will tell you where a plan does more than more posts.
