Design & Branding

A presence people recognise you by

We develop corporate designs for companies whose presence has grown over the years: from positioning and brand values through to a design system that is actually used day to day.

Corporate identity and corporate design

Corporate identity is what a company stands for. Corporate design is what you see of it. The two belong together: a new logo changes little as long as it is unclear what the brand is actually claiming.

Attitude first

What does the company stand for, how does it speak, and what sets it apart from everyone else in the market? Without those answers, a new logo is just a new picture.

A system instead of a logo

Colours, typefaces, visual language and applications belong together. We supply the rules alongside them, so printers, agencies and your own team can apply them.

Robust in everyday use

A design has to work on an invoice, on a van, in a job ad and on the website, not only on the presentation slide.

A brand only works when it speaks the same language everywhere.

Situations that typically bring clients to us

  • Every department uses its own colours, typefaces and logo versions.

  • The logo dates from before screens and no longer works digitally.

  • The presence no longer matches what the company does today.

  • After a succession, merger or repositioning there is no shared image.

  • There are templates, but nobody sticks to them day to day.

  • Print and digital look like two different companies.

  • None of this sounds like you?

Then tell us what you are actually dealing with.

What we actually do

Brand core and positioning

In a workshop we clarify values, audiences and what sets you apart from the competition. That is the foundation without which design stays arbitrary.

Logo and brand mark

Developing or reworking the logo so it works small, large and on any background.

Design system

Colours, typography, visual language and reusable elements, documented briefly enough that people actually read it.

Rules for the application

How the system is carried over to stationery, vehicles and print. The implementation itself is branding.

Carrying it into digital

We translate the corporate design into website, shop and social channels without it losing its effect.

Support in daily business

We have supported MÜNSTERMANN continuously since the rebrand, so the brand presence stays consistent over the years.

How we work

  • 01

    Understand

A workshop with the people who shape the brand. Without this step, design becomes a matter of taste.

  • 02

    Define the core

Positioning, values and tone of voice are put in writing before any design work starts.

  • 03

    Design

Logo, colours, typography and example applications are created as one coherent system.

  • 04

    Roll out

We carry the design over to every relevant medium and support its introduction inside the company.

In the end the brand speaks the same language everywhere. Show us what you use today and we will tell you whether a refresh is enough.

Frequently asked questions

A new logo changes little as long as the presence, the documents and the digital surfaces do not speak the same language.

When does a brand need a new corporate design?

Typical triggers are a succession, a merger or a new direction, a logo from the days before screens, a presence that no longer matches what you offer today, or simply the state where every department uses its own colours, typefaces and logo versions. Before any of that, though, we clarify the attitude: what does the company stand for, how does it speak, what sets it apart? Without those answers, a new logo is just a new picture.

Does the logo always have to be replaced completely?

No, and often that would be the wrong move. If the brand is well known, the loss of recognition weighs more than the gain from a new mark. A careful rework is often enough: adjust proportions and details so it works at small sizes too, then renew colours, typography and applications. Whether a rework or a new design makes more sense is something we decide together in the workshop.

Is there a design manual?

Yes, but deliberately as a usable tool: rules for logo, colours, typography and visual language, plus templates and examples for the most common cases. We document briefly enough that people actually read it, rather than delivering an 80-page PDF nobody opens. It also matters that printers, sign makers and external agencies can work with it, not just your marketing team.

Is digital considered from the start?

Yes. What works in print has to be redefined on screen: contrast for dark and light surfaces, states for hover and focus, icons, type sizes for small displays, motion and the web licence for the corporate typeface. That is why we test the design against the real applications – invoice, van, job ad, website – and not against the presentation slide.

Does your presence still match your company?

Show us what you use today. We will tell you whether a refresh is enough or whether it takes more.
