Online shops that fit your product range and your processes

We support manufacturers and retailers from choosing the system to running the shop: which shop system fits, how the product data gets in and how the shop can be extended later.

What this is about

E-commerce rarely fails because of the design. It fails because product data is not maintained, because the shop does not talk to the inventory management system, or because every new market turns into a full project again.

System selection with reasons

We look at the product range, the data sources and the ordering processes first, and only then decide on the system. We often end up with Shopify, because it is fast, stable and easy to connect. If something else fits better, we say so.

Connected to ERP and PIM

The shop is only the surface. It becomes reliable once product data, prices and stock levels come from the systems where they are maintained anyway.

Growing without rebuilding

Another country, a second product range, a dedicated dealer area: we build the structure so such steps can be added later instead of starting from scratch every time.

A shop is not decided by its look. It is decided in the buying process.

Situations that typically bring clients to us

  • It is unclear which shop system fits the product range and the size of the company.

  • Product data sits in the PIM or ERP but does not reach the shop automatically.

  • The shop cannot be rolled out to further countries or national subsidiaries.

  • B2B requirements such as customer pricing, volume tiers or approvals are missing.

  • The existing shop is technically outdated and too expensive to maintain.

  • Orders are transferred into the inventory management system by hand.

  • None of this sounds like you?

What we actually do

System selection and concept work

We review the product range, the data situation and the processes and recommend a shop system you will still want to run in three years.

Shop development

From the design through the build to going live. Our focus is Shopify, because it scales quickly and reliably.

Product data and PIM connection

We bring product data into the shop automatically, including attributes, variants and images, so nothing is maintained twice.

Connection to ERP and inventory management

Orders, stock levels and prices run through interfaces between shop and back end instead of being transferred by hand.

Internationalisation

Several countries, languages and subsidiaries on one shared foundation, so a new market does not mean a new project.

Optimisation after launch

We measure where users drop out of the buying process and improve exactly the points that cost revenue.

How we work

  • 01

    Understand

Product range, audience, data sources and internal workflows. Only then do we talk about systems.

  • 02

    Decide

We settle the shop system, the data flow and the scope, and say openly what cannot be mapped with it.

  • 03

    Build

Design, shop, data connections and processes are developed in parallel and tested together.

  • 04

    Measure and optimise

After launch we look at real user data and optimise where it pays off.

System, data flow and checkout are built as one project, not as an afterthought. Describe your starting position and we will tell you which route is realistic.

Frequently asked questions

A shop rarely fails on its look. Usually it is the choice of system, the data and what comes after go-live.

Does dxm only build Shopify shops?

We often end up with Shopify, because it lets you start quickly, run reliably and connect easily. It is not a foregone conclusion, though: if your product range, pricing logic or processes suit another system better, we say so before we quote. What matters is that you will still want to run the shop in three years and that the running costs for licences, apps and maintenance stay realistic.

What do you check before choosing a system?

We look at four things: the product range with its variants and attributes, the data sources in PIM, ERP or inventory management, the ordering process through to the invoice, and the requirements for further countries or B2B customers. That shows which system will carry the load, what has to be built individually and where the limits are. We name those limits openly instead of discovering them mid-project.

Can existing product data be migrated?

Yes, as long as its structure and quality allow it. In practice the existing data is the most demanding part of a migration: variants are built inconsistently, attributes are missing, images come in different sizes. We review the data beforehand, define the mappings and clean up where it is worth doing. The import then runs automatically and repeatably, not as a one-off manual exercise.

Do you support the shop after launch?

Yes, and that is usually the more important part. After go-live, real user data shows where purchases are abandoned: search, variants, shipping costs, payment or loading time. We optimise exactly there, take care of data maintenance and updates, and support further product ranges, dealer areas or markets when they come up.
