First call opens on 7 September 2026.

MID Digital Processes is the new programme from September 2026. It funds external consulting so SMEs in NRW can analyse and improve internal business and production processes. The new guideline applies from 1 September 2026. The first call runs from 7 September to 1 December 2026, while funds last.

What is this about?

If the workflow is unclear, even good software helps little. MID Digital Processes pays for the external consulting before that: capture current processes, describe digital target flows, choose systems and support rollout as a specialist.

Who can apply

SMEs based in North Rhine-Westphalia. Applications only inside the call, in the order of complete receipt. The call can end earlier if the available funds are used up. Within two years the programme can generally be used only once.

What is funded

External consulting to analyse and improve internal business and production processes. That can include as-is analysis, to-be design, selection of suitable software and specialist support during implementation. Only one consultancy may be appointed. Subcontracts for the funded consulting are not permitted.

Amount, timing, contract

At most 500 euros per consulting day, at least 10 and at most 30 days, so at most 15,000 euros. The delivery period is three months from the grant notice. A valid consulting offer may be prepared before you apply. A binding contract for the funded work may be signed only after the grant notice.

Specialist advice in the switch-over so the software matches the described flow. No software development and no plain standard installation inside the funded scope.

Offer for the application

A valid consulting offer for the application, covering at least ten consulting days. A binding contract for the funded work is signed only after the grant notice.

Prepare evidence

Proof-of-use form, invoice copy with the delivery period, payment proof from the business account and monitoring form. The guideline additionally requires a factual report on the consulting delivered.

How we work

    Prepare now

    Name the bottleneck, estimate consulting days, write a valid consulting offer. That has to stand before the portal opens on 7 September.

  • 02

    Submit in the call

    Application plus a valid consulting offer via the NRW.BANK portal, by you as the company. What counts is when the complete application sits in the portal. The call can close once funds are used up.

  • 03

    Consult

    After the notice: analysis, design, selection, specialist support. Three months from the grant notice. The project must not start before that.

  • 04

    Close

    File the evidence. The to-be process remains. Technical delivery with us would be a separate brief outside this grant.

Frequently asked questions

MID Digital Processes is the new sub-programme from September 2026. It is not the same as MID Digitalisation. The consulting offer should be ready before the portal opens.

Who files the application?

The applicant company, via the NRW.BANK portal. dxm helps place the case, shape the scope and prepare the valid consulting offer. Company data, declarations and the submission stay with the company. Eligibility and approval are decided by NRW.BANK.

How large is the grant?

What is legally binding?

All information reflects our understanding as of 20 August 2026. Only the current guidelines, calls and rules of the competent funding body are binding. There is no entitlement to funding.
